Odysseus and his men were exhausted from their journey and he wanted to take like som kind of short cut, but his men wanted to land. So they landed on the island of the sun god, Helios. His men sweared that they won't touch the sun god's cattle. But there were storms for months and their food supply was lacking, so the men thought that by eating the cattle they will feel better after, because they are starving. Odysseus finds out that his men had eaten the god's cattle, and he is very mad that he curses the gods for letting him sleep through while his men were eating the cattle. When Helios also finds out he begs to Zeus to punish Odysseus and his men. They are eventually punished to death, they were on the sea. What killed them was a thunderbolt from Zeus and that destroyed their boat and Odysseus' men. Odysseus survives and he finds his way to Calypso's island once again.
